About the Christocentric preacher

[gallery]The Skaug FamilyI graduated with my MDiv from Southern Seminary where I am also finishing a Doctorate of Ministry. I was on staff at Southern as the Director of Development for two years. I am currently the Senior Pastor at Central Baptist Church of Aurora, Colorado. I am married to a wonderful woman going on 12 years. We adopted our first daughter from China in 2006. I am convinced that the entire Bible should be read and interpreted through the lens of the coming, the life, ministry, death, resurrection, and 2nd coming of Jesus the Christ. My entire hermeneutic is an apostolic one (see Dennis JOhnson and G Goldsworthy). My true passion is the preaching of the Old Testament as a means to present the gospel of Christ.

  1. Ben,

Long time, no see or hear. Glad to see you’re pastoring. The baby is beautiful. Congratulations.

Living in Charleston, doing the teaching thing. Enjoying the life of a professor. Off for the summer. At the pool yesterday. Heading out on the motorcycle here in a few minutes. Doing some pulpit supply. Doing a 10-week series on the Reformation at another church. Trying to keep somewhat regular with my blog. But, since I’m not omniscience or omnicompetent, I don’t always have something to say. Trying to stay out of the SBC blogwars and just do stuff relevant to believers and the church. Otherwise, no complaints.

BTW: haven’t found any good barbecue down here yet.

    Blessings,
    Peter
